Trediberri Barbera D'Alba 2019 $29 BTL / 6 pk

Three friends - Tre - and a vineyard in Berri = Trediberri

Berri is a small hamlet in the westernmost part of La Morra, situated in the Langhe hills of Piedmonte, close to the Tanaro River. Here, in 2007, Nicola Oberto, his father Federico and their friend Vladimiro Rambaldi acquired 5 hectares exclusively for the production of Barolo. Their first wine was released in 2011.

"We are a young, artisanal family winery. We have no ancestral coat of arms or history, and that is fine by us: we like talking about the present, through our wines."

"We love to drink wine, therefore the greatest recognition for us is a bottle that is quickly finished".

2019 is one of their greatest vintages of the last decade. Huge healthy bunches meant the sorting table was null and void for this year only! This fine drop represents a blend from two different vineyards....70% or thereabouts from La Morra, a 40 year old east-facing vineyard and the rest from the Roero area, where sandy soil gives lightness and lift.

Variety:  Red

Grape:  Barbera 100%

Region:  Piedmont, Italy.

Tasting Notes:

A good combination between juiciness, acidity and power, the 2019 vintage is a bit lower in alcohol than the 2018, but it maintains the character of the previous vintage - fresh, easy and juicy with a lingering sapid finish.  Due to the high dry extract and the important structure in the mouth, this wine is perfect to be drunk with traditional piedmontese fat meals such as Bollito Misto, Finanziera, Testina as well as a rare-done Fiorentina steak, a savoury Gulasch or a spicy Tandoor Beef.
